In January 2023 I published ChatGPT and Healthcare, about six weeks after ChatGPT went public. Almost no practicing physician was writing about it yet. So when reporters and conference producers needed a doctor who could talk about large language models without hand-waving, they called me, and they kept calling.
Somewhere in that stretch the introductions changed. I stopped being the guy who wrote a book about AI. I started being DR GPT™.
By March 2024 a podcast put it in an episode title. By May 2026 a hospital system newsroom ran it in a headline. I trademarked the name after it had already stuck. A name you earn is worth more than one you invent.
I still take shifts. That is not a branding detail, it is the reason the talk works. A speaker who was on shift last month tells a different story about alert fatigue than a speaker who read about it.
The keynote I give is the judgment talk. What a clinician still owes a patient when a model is in the room. How to tell a tool that helps from one that only looks like it helps. What happens to a workforce that stops practicing the thing the machine now does.
I work with hospital boards, health systems, medical conferences, pharma and medtech teams, and universities. Sessions run in English, Spanish, or a mix of the two, which matters more than most organizers expect for programs in Latin America and Spain.
Every session is educational and futurist. I do not promise clinical outcomes, and I do not sell software. If a speaker has only upside to offer, they will not survive the Q and A in front of a skeptical clinical audience.
